The Christian community in step with engaged couples

Pope Francis dedicates a few chapters of Amoris laetitia to the commitment of the Christian community for engaged couples based on this awareness: “The complexity of today’s society and the challenges faced by the family require a greater effort on the part of the whole Christian community in preparing those who are about to be married” (AL 206).

And he indicates four priorities: the witness of the families, the integration of marriage preparation in the life of the community, specific programmes for the forthcoming preparation, the participation of engaged couples in ecclesial life. After having spoken about the fundamental witness of credible and contagious spouses, we now turn to the tasks of a Christian community.
