Protected under the wings of the hen

fr. Luciano Bertazzo

In recent years we have reviewed many animals of the Antonian zoo, meeting that witty wisdom that is characteristic of the Saint’s writing for which everything becomes a symbol and refers to a reality beyond what we see. I realize that I have never spoken of the pullus - the chicken, the hen in its evolution! Forgetting so I try to make amends by remembering this animal so present not only in our plate (poor chicken!) but also in the lively discussion in progress about a form of “dignity” to be recognized even to these former birds that can not be raised in batteries unhealthy for them and for us!
