Peace begins in the family

January is the month of peace, which begins with the World Peace Day and, in the middle of the month, we celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. It is a month that should be filled with the scent of peace, but instead, atrocious wars are still bloodying our earth, including the land where Jesus lived. Many times Jesus was provoked on social and political issues, on the domination of the Roman Empire, on taxes, on the causes of evil and violence; each time he brought the question back to the deep roots of evil, to the sick heart of man, to the forgetfulness of God that from the beginning led Adam to accuse Eve and Cain to kill Abel.
