Why so many languages?

Editorial Staff

In the acts of the apostles we read that just after Pentecost the apostles spoke to the people in different languages. I would really like to be able to speak many languages and to travel all around the world! But what is the meaning of this miracle?

Simon

Well, all that remains is to make an effort to seriously study the languages you are already learning at school. Of course the more languages you know the easier it is to learn another one. And then being able to speak several languages allows you to have the possibility of acquiring a deeper understanding of others. The meaning of the miracle of Pentecost refers to just this: the desire to understand and grow in love and mutual service. Normally when we love we understand each other through signs and gazes. This is the miracle of Pentecost: love each other to understand each other! So I suggest you to learn all the languages you can but above all to grow in the ability to open your heart in order to convey love, happiness and confidence. Good job!
