The month of October, like the month of May is traditionally dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary that is celebrated in the Catholic Church on October 7. The celebration was introduced by Pope St. Pius V (1504-1572) in the year 1571 as the feast of our Virgin of the Victory to commemorate the miraculous victory of the Christian forces in the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571.

Two years later Pope Gregory XIII confirmed it under the name of “our Lady of the Rosary”. In 1716 Clement XI proclaimed it as an universal prayer and in 1913 Pius XI declared October 7 as the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. In her apparitions in Lourdes the Virgin recommended the Rosary that has old origins...
