A powerful wave to overcome

Alessandra Castelliti

Many people of different ages and professions may have panic attacks. What are the symptoms? On a cognitive level they can be: intense fear, a sense of terror or impending doom or death, a feeling of loss of control. Physical symptoms can be: sweating, feeling weak, faint or dizzy, chest pains, breathing difficulties, “racing” heart and vertigo.

It is important not to underestimate the symptoms: at first your doctor will determine if you have panic attacks or another condition, with symptoms that resemble panic attacks. All to often we exaggerate and see problems that do not exist or we neglect things that really need attention: so we must not be afraid if we have a panic attack because it is always possible to get help and to regain peace of mind.
