Abandoning guilt: how many benefits

Alessandra Castelliti

Fear and guilt often weigh in each of us like boulders that crush us and we cannot remove. Living with these burdens is not easy, it deprives us of inner peace towards ourselves and others; we have the continuous feeling of being wrong, so everything we do is aimed at the approval of those around us, increasing inwardly the sense of fear, frustration, and fear of being inadequate. Many times we confuse this being available with love and dedication, instead the experience of love and good expresses itself where there is no fear and guilt, but freedom and tranquility to share. Living “with the handbrake on” causes us inner risks; the repression of anger is one of the most present aspects in those who live with constant guilt and sometimes manifests itself by activating body and mind disorders.
