Chasing the horizon

Elide Siviero

“The uncertain horizon throws its face into the fog. Behind him, in the rearguard, a shawl of light covers another horizon”. I want to get to the horizon. I said that as a child because I wanted to get to the end of what I saw. But the crazy thing is, I could never get to the end of the horizon. Because the horizon is nothing more than an imaginary line, which is only in the eyes of the beholder: it is the ultimate limit towards which one can push one’s sight, strongly marked by the peaks of the mountains or the backs of the hills or blurred in the plain or the sea by the roundness of the earth’s sphere.
